About Stillwater

Slow practice for a fast world

We're a neighbourhood studio built on patience, good teaching and the belief that yoga is for everyone — especially the people who think it isn't for them.

Our story

A quiet room that grew into a community

Stillwater began with a simple wish: a place where people could slow down without being judged for how flexible, fit or 'spiritual' they were. A decade on, that wish still shapes every class — from the way we greet you at the door to the long, quiet savasana at the end.

Today we're a team of twelve teachers, a garden deck, a tea corner and a timetable that runs from sunrise to candlelight.

What we value

Four promises we keep on every mat

Kindness first

No mirrors, no pressure. Every pose has an option and every body belongs.

Small by design

Classes capped at twelve so teachers can see, cue and adjust with care.

Rooted in nature

Plastic-free studio, cork mats and a garden deck for warm-weather practice.

Tradition, made clear

We honour yoga's lineage while teaching in plain, body-aware language.

Our teachers

The people who hold the space

Certified, curious and endlessly patient — with over 60 years of combined teaching between them.
